The Senior Manager, Retail Sales, is responsible for developing and executing the company’s direct sales and marketing strategies. This role plays a critical part in maintaining and growing revenue and profit margins from both major and independent retail accounts, in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and performance targets.. Duties & Responsibilities:. Account Management & Customer Engagement. Manage and grow multiple retail accounts, cultivating strong, trust-based relationships across all customer touchpoints. Serve as the primary contact for key clients, ensuring consistent communication and high levels of satisfaction. Drive customer retention, renewals, upselling, and long-term account success. Develop and maintain robust relationships with new and existing customers and vendors through regular communication, visits, and excellent service. Lead customer business reviews and sales proposal development, including responses to RFPs. Sales Strategy & Execution. Assist in complex sales negotiations, lead sales presentations, and support the closing of new business opportunities. Identify and secure exclusive distribution opportunities and drive strategic growth across accounts. Analyze market trends and conduct competitive and customer surveys to inform sales strategies. Support development and implementation of pricing protection programs and Market Development Fund (MDF) processes in coordination with Finance. Campaign & Performance Management. Oversee campaign execution in partnership with Account Managers and Operations, including asset setup, trafficking, optimization, QA, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to exceed campaign goals through data-driven decision-making and performance management. Utilize analytics and reporting tools to assess campaign performance and customer success and identify opportunities for process or product improvements. Manage and deliver insightful campaign reports, including weekly updates and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). Operational Alignment & Reporting. Coordinate closely with Finance and Operations on forecasting, budget tracking, returns, and net profit/ROI analysis. Lead retail item setup and ensure accurate execution of product launches and promotional bundles. Maintain up-to-date reporting both internally and externally, providing insights and key business metrics. Drive alignment between Customer Service and internal teams on order management and return processes. Leverage CRM tools to track customer activity, ensuring timely follow-up and complete visibility. Process & System Leadership. Champion adherence to established campaign and sales processes, including digital campaign setup, creative execution, and pixel strategies. Identify and recommend process improvements to drive efficiency, scalability, and enhanced customer experience. Serve as the key liaison for retail systems and IT needs, ensuring technology supports business goals and team effectiveness. Cross-Functional Collaboration. Partner with Analytics, Finance, IT, and Operations to ensure seamless execution and ongoing optimization of retail initiatives. Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings to support strategic development and brand positioning. Skills & Qualifications:. A degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline is strongly preferred; equivalent professional work experience will also be considered. 7+ years of processive experience in retail sales, account management, or business development. Proven experience managing large retails accounts (both major chains and independents). Demonstrated success in leading sales teams and achieving or exceeding revenue targets. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, customer metrics, and market trends. Experience with forecasting, budget management, ROI analysis, and P&L responsibility. Proficiency in using data to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. Experience collaborating across departments such as operations, finance, IT, logistics, and marketing. Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory planning, and retail systems. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members. Proficiency in (Tableau, Power BI, or Excel). Perks:.
